The Pepsi University Football League (UFL) kicked off its eleventh season on Tuesday with an efflux of goals as teams aimed to secure an early advantage of proceedings.

The UFL has produced 15 goals in only four games so far.

Defending Champions Uganda Martyrs University Nkozi thumped Bugema University 3 goals to 1 in the  season opener.

Ivan Agamire scored a 37th minute goal to give the hosts the lead while Akbar Ssentongo’s double strike sealed matters.

The visitors, Bugema were able to earn a much needed consolation in the 94th minute courtsey of Dennis Kimuli’s penalty.

The Nkumba University Beach Boys were no match for St. Lawrence University as they were thumped 3 goals to 1 while on the road.

An early goal by Osman Kembo, another by Micheal Abura and a third by Innocent Matenga was the icing on the cake.

The Beach Boys were able to pull one back in the 83rd minute through Abbey Kavuma.

Newcomers ISBAT University received a tough welcome as Bishop Stuart University clinched an impressive 3 -1 victory on Thursday.

Christopher Muhwezi, Honest Atwijuke and Ashil Agaba were all on target for the Mbarara-based side.

ISBAT were able to get a consolation after Geoffrey Pirwoth scored from the spot.

University of Kisubi were humbled by Kabale University as forward, Hallelujah Muzoora scored an impressive hattrick.

Muzoora was on target in the 5th, 76th and 80th minutes of the game, getting ahead of the golden boot pirsuit.

All focus turns to Makerere University as they renew their rivalry with Kyambogo University on Sunday 17th September, 2023.
