Travis Mutyaba came off the bench to secure a win for Uganda cranes over Tanzania at Benjamin Mkapa stadium in Dar es Salaam on Sunday in the 2023 CHAN qualifiers.
Both sides started the game a low tempo with first prioritizing of not conceding.
However in the second half everything changed after Travis Mutyaba, Richard Basangwa and Saidi Kyeyune were introduced who put the Tanzanian defense on pressure.
Their efforts were paid off in the 87th minute after Travis Mutyaba received a ball from Mohamed Hussein before going past the shaky Tanzanian defense and putting the ball behind the back of the net.
The win gave the cranes a chance ahead of the game at St Mary’s on Saturday.
The aggregate winner will automatically quality to the 2023 CHAN competitions in Algeria.
