Onduparaka FC have confirmed the appointment of former Uganda Cranes midfielder Steven Bogere as their new head coach.

In appointing the latter, the Caterpillars have stated straight what they intend to achieve with the former SC Villa tactician.

“Onduparaka announces the appointment of Mr. Steven Bogere as Head Coach, effective Tuesday 6th December 2022.,” a post on the club’s social media platforms read before adding.

“We thank the assistant coach for holding forte thus far, we believe his arrival is timely as the management works towards improving performance,” it added.

The West Nile-based outfit have endured a tough beginning to the 2022/23 season, positioned bottom of the 15-team SUPL log with two points after 10 games.

To make matters worse, Onduparaka are the only team yet to win a game in the Uganda Premier League this campaign.

Bogere comes in to replace Haruna Mawa whose departure was untimely earlier this season leaving his assistant Hamza Kalanzi in the position of head coach.

Kalanzi will return to his role of assistant and Bogere’s first game in charge of the Caterpillars is a tricky visit to Kitende to face Vipers SC on Wednesday, December 7th.
