24-year-old Ugandan forward Edward Kizza opened the scoring as his side Riverhounds SC beat the University of Pittsburgh Panthers 2-1 in a pre-season friendly game.
Kizza was able to find the back of the net in the 11th minute of the game against a team he represented during his college days.
The Panthers were able to equalise through Filip Mirkovic, but Robbie Mertz scored the winning goal in the second half.
The Hounds are yet to lose a game in their preseason crusade, with one final game against the Louisville City FC on Saturday.
The 24-year-old is expected to play a pivotal role for the Hounds after making a permanent move from New England Revolution this term.
About Kizza:
Kizza played college football at the University of Pittsburgh and scored 31 goals in three seasons with the Panthers from 2017-19.
Kizza who featured for the panthers during his college days was able to slot home in the 11th minute of the game.
He helped his University to its first National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Tournament appearance in 54 years.
The forward started his football career at Kampala-based outfit, Uganda Youth Soccer Academy (UYSA). During his formative years, he took part in both local and international competitions.
