Gazelles team management has called up 19 players for the preparations of FIBA Afrobasket final which is slated for July and August.

The head coach Alberto Antuna selected 10 locally based players and 9 players from abroad. The selected players will take part in the training which starts on 2nd July in Kampala.

The head coach retained the team that helped Uganda qualify for the finals and only added 7 players plying their trade in the US.

“We are not excited to be back to the big stage and this is a big deal for our basket ball as a nation. We are very positive that the ladies will make the country proud come July 28th when the game starts.” FUBA President Nasser Sserunjogi noted.

Jannon Otto will also return to the team. Other players led by Jane Asinde,Jamila Nansikombi Melissa Akullu will also travel with the team to fight for the final slots on the roster to Kigali.

The competition will commence from 28th July to August 6th at the BK Arena in Kigali Rwanda

Residential training will start on Sunday 2nd July with sessions held at Lugogo indoors stadium and Africa Bible University in Lubowa.
