Entebbe Journalists Association (EJA) was in spirited form as they welcomed their Kampala counterparts in a friendly game of football on Sunday.

The game played at Lake Victoria School in Entebbe Municipality ended 4-1 in favor of the hosts. With Johnmary Luwaga netting the opener in the first stanza.

In the second half, EJA scored a second before the visitors pulled one back in pursuit of a leveler, but the hosts were not taking any prisoners, scoring twice again before the end of regulation time.

EJA team captain, Godfrey Ssempijja said the game is a precursor for what this year holds for them.

“This is a good start for us, we have several games coming up including the Entebbe Corporate League. We hope to replicate this form,” he noted.

Daily Monitor’s Abubaker Lubowa said that it is through such games that the Journalism fraternity can build unity and come up with a singular voice.

Kampala Journalists Football Team Captain, Emmanuel Nkata said they hope to extend similar efforts across the country to strengthen solidarity with other scribes.
