Savio Kabugo has signed for FUFA Big League Outfit, Lugazi FC making a return to competitive football in a new twist in his career.

The Club announced they had acquired the services of the defender on Thursday 14th September after courting him for a while.

The 28-year-old spent a decent one-year spell at Botswana-based side, Jwaneng Galaxy firing it to a third-place finish.

“Lugazi FC proudly announces the arrival of seasoned defender Savio Kabugo, who has joined the club on a two-year contract. Kabugo brings a wealth of experience and a burning desire to contribute to the club’s ambitions.” the Club said in a statement.

“This is not a light transfer in my life I discussed it with my family before accepting this great move and for sure it’s the best decision we have made,” Kabugo said in a post on X(Twitter).

During his career, Kabugo has featured for Uganda Premier League giants KCCA FC,  URA FC, SC Villa and Proline FC. The defender has also featured for Congolese side AS Vita and Ethiopia’s Sebeta Kenema FC.

The defender has enjoyed several appearances for the national team, Uganda Cranes with several caps to his name.
