When the much anticipated Entebbe Corporate league (ECL) returns tomorrow for October’s games, Corporates from different entities will gohead to head in the pursuit of bragging rights and the ultimate prize.
The teams will compete in Football, Volleyball, Netball and fun games such as sack racing, bottle filling, and tug of war. The fun games will also secure bonus points for the teams.
The outing will be headlined by a cleaning exercise of Entebbe Town as a way of ridding the Municipality of plastic waste and garbage. The Entebbe Municipality Deputy Mayor, Charles Kabwama will preside over the event as Chief Guest.
The ECL Chief Executive Officer, Ronald Onzima while speaking to the press said the cleaning exercise aligns well with their theme of “Ecosystem Restoration.”
“This [cleaning exercise] will help us send a message for conservation and restoration of our environment, rid our city of plastic, there is so much to be done, but this will be a good start. We hope to revitalise this cause, and remind people to take action and reduce their carbon footprint.” he noted
The league features; Uganda Printing and Publishing Company, Uganda Civil Aviation Authority, DAS Handling Services, Entebbe Journalists Association, Children’s Surgical Hospital Entebbe, Paddy O’ganda Irish Bar, Entebbe Regional Referral Hospital, National Agricultural Research Organisation, Entebbe Police Corporate Team, Kampala Executive Academy, Entebbe Young Academy, Beeline Medical Services, and Katabi Busambaga Youth Development Association.
